3 Non-Korean BB Cushions You’ll Definitely Love - By Rachell Tan

When I'm in a hurry and do not have the luxury of time to bother with my concealers, cushion foundations, beauty sponges and liquid foundations, are definitely my go-to product!

Conveniently packaged with a puff applicator, cushion foundations are pretty much a must-have in every girl's makeup stash!

Today I'll be reviewing 3 amazing cushion foundations:

1. LANCÔME Teint Idole Ultra Cushion Foundation

2. MAC COSMETICS Lightful C + Coral Grass SPF 50/PA++++ Quick Finish Cushion Compact Foundation

3. Tom Ford Traceless Touch Foundation SPF 45 Satin-Matte Cushion Compact

Before I begin, I must say these products were probably the hardest products I had to review (so far) because all 3 products were great! I love cushion foundations in general, and each product had their own share of strengths!

But this post is just me trying to nitpick and dive in a little deeper…

IMMEDIATELY AFTER APPLYING

IMMEDIATELY AFTER APPLYING (CLOSE UP ON LIP AREA)

When it comes to cushion foundations, I usually apply them more thoughtlessly than liquid foundations, because I only use cushion foundations when I’m in a hurry, or just evening out my skin tone before running simple errands.

The LANCÔME cushion proved to be easiest to blend in a given amount of time compared to the other two.

Among the 3 cushions, LANCÔME had the most lightweight texture where you feel like you have no makeup at all, whereas with MAC and Tom Ford cushions, the texture is slightly stickier and you will feel that you have makeup on.

Coverage wise, I felt that Tom Ford and MAC had stronger coverage than LANCÔME.

Because I have oily-combination skin, I found my T-zone being oiliest with the LANCÔME cushion, and least oily with Tom Ford (as you can see from the ring light’s reflection on my nose).

I’m quite used to touching up or blotting my face throughout the day, so I didn’t find this a major concern for me.

After trying out the 3 foundations for a period of time, I found myself choosing the LANCÔME cushion over and over again for my daily makeup.

It’s also surpassed my previous favourite cushions!

MAC COSMETICS Lightful C + Coral Grass SPF 50/PA++++ Quick Finish Cushion Compact Foundation

I’ve always loved MAC products because they always have shades closest to my own skin.

With many brands of cushion foundations, there’s always a tendency for the product to want to “brighten” your skin tone, and this is the first cushion foundation I’ve used that matches my skin tone almost perfectly.

Although its application feels less lightweight than LANCÔME’s, it can fully substitute my use of liquid foundations, and still give me the coverage I get with liquid foundations.

All 3 cushion foundations performs amazingly, but if you were to place them together on a shelf and told me to pick one, based on it's packaging alone I’d choose Tom Ford in a heartbeat.

Featuring a magnetic closure and sleek gold and black finish, the Tom Ford Cushion Compact sets itself apart from the usual push button closure packagings we’re familiar with.

- Fancy, sleek and IG flatlay-worthy packaging

- Long lasting throughout the day

- Least oily around T-zone after 6 hours

FINAL VERDICT

As mentioned above, I’m actually very happy with these 3 cushion foundations, and don’t really have any major concerns with any of them.

My personal favourite is LANCÔME, because for me ease and speed of application, and lightweight texture on skin is the most important.

Coverage for me isn’t as important for cushion foundations as I’m usually using them to even out my skin tone quickly. Additionally I’ll use a concealer if I have redness or major bad dark eye circles that need concealing.
